ROUND THE WORLD.
AMERICAN YACHTSMAN’S LONG VOYAGE. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright PARIS, July 24. Mr William Albert Robinson, an American yachtsman, has arrived at Villefranche, on the Mediterranean coast of Prance, in his 32ft. ketch Svaap after a long voyage lasting three and a quarter years, during which he has sailed almost round the world. He set out from Connecticut, U.S.A., in 1928, and visited Panama, the Pacific Islands, New Guinea, India, and Africa, He was twice captured by Arabian pirates.
Mr Robinson will shortly cross the Atlantic for home.
(Mr Robinson's voyage has not been made single-handed. He had a companion on the trip to Tahiti, where he picked up a native seaman who accompanied him on the cruise through the Islands. He was last mentioned in the cable news 10 months ago, when anxiety was felt because the Svaap was five weeks overdue at Samarai, New Guinea, from Tulagi, in the Solomons. However, a month later word came that the yacht was up the Sepik River, New Guinea, and that Mr Robinson intended returning to New York in two years. He will then have circled the globe. The Svaap is probably the smallest yacht that has ever- made so long a voyagej
