PEEPS INTO DUSTY ANTIQUITY.

Explorers in Palestine. IMPORTANT DISCOVERIES EXPECTED. United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, May 11. Sir Flinders Petrie, who has just returned from Palestine, says scraps, being collected from 4000-year-old ruins for despatch to the University of London, may hold important secrets. They were obtained at Naza, which was the first city of the Shepherd Kings unearthed in Palestine. Abraham rested hereabouts in journeying to Egypt. Mosquitoes delayed the excavations for two months, taking toll of the workers as they did when they destroyed the city. Eighty rooms excavated were found to be constructed of large yellowish bricks, excellently laid. The ceilings were as high as those of modern London. A long street and cross thoroughfares were uncovered. There are only two levels deeper, to go, when more interesting finds are expected.
