THE WEATHER

Mr F .L. Wooles. Wind, moderate to strong northerly. Weather fair to cloudy and warm. Dominion Meteorologist. An anti-cyclone still covers the Dominion. An intense low-pressure area extends over the whole of Australia to the southern Tasman Sea. Winds, variable at first in the north, otherwise northerly winds prevailing, and freshening in and south of Cook Strait. Seas in New Zealand waters generally smooth to moderate, but later rising in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Tasman Sea, moderate to strong northerly winds in the eastern Tasman sea, with smooth to moderate but rising reas. Weather still fair to fine in most districts, but cold increasing in western districts, and showers developing in the western and southern portions of the South Island. Mild temperatures will prevail.
