OBITUARY.
MR I. L. HJORRING. The death occurred at Oamaru on Saturday last of Mr Ivan Larnach Hjorring, Barrister and solicitor, at the age of 27 years. The late Mr Hjorring w'as the only son of Mr and Mrs P. C. Hjorring, of Oamaru. and was born at Naseby. He received his early education at the Christian Brothers’ School, Dunedin, and later attended St. Patrick’s College Wellington. Subsequently he attended Victoria University College. Wellington, w'here he w'as a keen debater and president of the College Debating Society. He graduated at Victoria College and passed his legal examinations, being admitted to partnership with his father in Oamaru about four years ago. Deceased was a keen row'er, and was a member of the Oamaru Boating Club. Up to a few' seasons ago he played for the Old Boys’ Football Club. He was president of the Oamaru branch of the How'ard League for Penal Reform. He was very highly respected and esteemed bj' Oamaru residents, to whom his decease at the outset of a very promising career came as a great shock.
