The military junta decares that it is mobilising the reserves with the approval of the whole population, in view of the possibility of the Lisbon Government attempting to suppress the movement. It guarantees food supplies, for which three Portuguese steamers have been seized. These will trade between England and the Island I —the usual produce market. All local authorities have been replaced by the present military Governr ment, which demands the re-establish-ment of public liberty as laid down in i the Republican constitution, the abolition of exile without trial and the censorship, also the return of free elections and absolute freedom guaranteed Y foreign shipping.
