PERSONAL.
Dr. A. Kidd, superintendent of Waiplata Sanatorium, Is visiting Timaru. Mr H. A. Mazey, of Christchurch, is on a visit to Timaru. Mr J. Milne, of Dunedin, is at present in Timaru. Mr H. Owers, of Christchurch, arrived in Timaru yesterday. Mr A. Delmonte, of Wellington, is visiting Timaru. Mr C. D. Beatson, of Christchurch, is at present in Timaru. The Rt. Rev. Dr. Brodie Bishop of Christchurch who was visiting Tima , has returned north. The Rev. Fathers M. Burke. SUM., and L. Smith, S.M., of St. Bede s College have returned to Christchurch from Timaru. Mr T W. Buxton, organiser for the United Party, was a passenger by the express from the north yesterday, is to visit Dunedin and the Clutha district. Mr W. J. Bardsley secretary of the Otago Harbour Board, was in Timaru yesterday. He left later in the afternoon for the north en route toi ' Eng land, where he Is to spend an extend ed holiday. Mr A. P. Harper, president of the New Zealand Alpine Club, will return to Wellington from Kowai Bush tomorrow. He presided at the, of the new alpine hut at de la Beche Corner during Easter week-end. The death occurred In Paris at the end of February of Mr G. C. Collard, BA a New Zealand journalist, agea 32 years. Mr Collard. a graduate of Auckland University College, and one of the first to win the New Zealand University's Diploma in Journalism, left Christchurch some seven or eight years ago to take a position m Brisbane. A year br so later he went Home for further experience, securing Pr® 33 work in London. He left this to write a novel, and had since spent a good deal of time on the Continent. Death was due to heart failure.
