ADVERTISING.
MOTIVE FORCE OF BUSINESS. ADVERTISE: ADVANCE. A Sydney newspaper has published some interesting sidelights on the recent advertising convention there. The slogans of the convention were: “Advertise, advance,” and “Advertise, or fossilise.” Mr Frank Goldberg declared: “Advertising is a force to be reckoned With—the motive force behind every phase of commercial endeavour. Planned soundly, executed intelligently and persisted in faithfully, advertising la the most powerful known form of business insurance.” Advertisements, he contended, formed the link between the producer, the seller, and the consumer. Mr Goldberg traversed the handling of the product all along the lino, channels of distribution, estimating the appropriation. media, message, release of campaign, and coordination of general sales efforts, convincingly proving the value of advertising to business.
