KITCHEN EVENING. On Saturday evening the friends of Miss Monica Kane gave a “kitchen evening” in her honour in the Public Hall. There was a good attendance, and the evening passed off pleasantly with dancing and musical items. Miss N. Scannell (Timaru) supplied the music for the dances, and Mr A. , O’Neill played the extras. Songs were I rendered by Miss Ola Kermard. On behalf of those present, Mr D. Lyall asked Miss Kane to accept a j number of kitchen utensils, and wished her every happiness in her future life. Mr C. Carson. in responding for Miss Kane, thanked all for their many useful presents and for their good : wishes. Mr J. Kane also returned thanks. “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow" was then sung, and dancing was continued until midnight, when the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” brought a pleasant evening to a close. PERSONAL. Mrs Oliver Waymouth and family. Cashmere Hills, Christchurch, are the guests of Mrs R. B. Williams, “The Croft.” Mr and Mrs William De Renzy, Fendalton, Christchurch, have returned to their home after a short visit to Mrs Wimsett. Miss N. Hammond, who has been visiting friends, returned to Christchurch on Wednesday. Miss K. Kane has returned to Christchurch after spending the holidays with her mother. Mrs J. Kane. Miss M. Kane has returned to Invercargill. Mr and Mrs W. Mills and Miss Mills have returned to “Scotston,” after camping at Lake Ohau for the Easter holidays. Mr and Mrs F. Martin, who spent the holidays at Lake Ohau, have also returned home. Mr and Mrs H. Dellow have returned to their home from a motoring trip to Dunedin. Miss M. Grigor. who has been the guest of Mrs Dash, has returned to Christchurch.
