WONDERFUL RALLY

SCOUTS AND GUIDES IN SYDNEY. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright t (Received March 22, 11.24 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 22. The greatest thing of its kind ever witnessed in Sydney took place this afternoon on Sydney cricket ground, when 12,000 guides, scouts and cubs held a combined religious service in connection with Lord Baden Powell’s visit. Over 30,000 were present. After the service Lady Baden Powell addressed the guides and Lord Baden Powell addressed the scouts and cubs. The latter spoke mostly of his experiences in New Zealand, where he said the scouts were equal to those in Australia. One of the proudest moments of his life was when he received a letter from a sailor on a warship telling him of the scouts’ wonderful assistance in the recent earthquake.
