FIRES.

OLD HOMESTEAD BURNED. By Telegraph—fresa Association CAMBRIDGE, March 21. Early this morning the Gorton homestead, of 14 rooms, situated a few miles from Cambridge, was totally destroyed by fire. The building was one of the oldest in the district, being erected by Sir James Fergusson, the former owner of the Gorton estate. Sir Charles Fergusson spent some years there as a boy. The building was insured, but the amount is not available.
