SOME NEW FROCKS.

A dainty peach-coloured chiffon evening frock, cut very low on the shoulders, was a frock worn by a London actress. The berthe collar is edged with tiny velvet flowers in a deeper shade, and similar flowers border the full skirt that is divided in front to display a silver lame foundation. The latter is set in inch-wide pleats and a velvet belt is knotted in front at the waist. Hand-painted cottage flowers decorate the skirt of her sleeveless organdi muslin morning frock, and a short shoulder cape is another feature of it. Large pearl buttons are sewn from neck to hem at the back of the white crepe de chine morning dress, each button being attached with different coloured cotton. The little round collar and triangular pockets are made of rows of narrow white lace through which a pink foundation shows faintly. Her lime coloured faille evening frock has the decolletage cut almost to waist at the back, and the deeply-cut petals of the skirt are edged with ruched material. The shoulder-straps, too, aiv ruched. THEATRICAL. MAKE-UP. Never attempt to remove make-up with soap and water. With a soft towel or an old rag wipe off as much of the grease as possible. Smear the face liberally with cold cream and work it into the skin, rubbing upwards from the chin and across the forehead. Wipe this off and, if the face does not feel quite fresh, apply more cold cream, then dust lightly with powder.
