CHILD KILLED ON RAILWAY. By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, March 6. Fatal injuries were received by a child of three years, Peter Samuel Hudson, whose parents reside at Henderson, as a result of being struck by an engine of a suburban train near Henderson railway station. The boy with a brother a little older, was playing on the railway lines. The child received a fracture of the skull and died two hours later. FOUND DROWNED. By Telegraph—Press Association FOXTON, March 6. An unidentified body of a man 45 years of age, sft 9ins in height, brown hair, natural teeth, top missing off left ear, was discovered by fishermen in the Manawatu river last night. There is nothing to establish identity on the body, except an envelope bearing the address “232 Princess Street, Palmerston North.” The sum of £6/17/3 was found in the pockets. There were no marks of violence. CATTLE ON RAILWAY. By Telegraph—Press Association TAUMARUNUI, March 6. The north-bound Limited express about 4 o’clock this morning ran into and killed two heifers near the railway crossing at Manunui. Another injured cow had to be destroyed. The train was delayed ten minutes.
