Speaking as a Napier resident at the Wanganui Rotary Club, Mr Percy Peters said he wanted to thank those Who had extended such wonderful kindness to the refugees from Napier. He said that there might have been dry eyes when they left Napier, but it was when they got to Woodville, and there was tea waiting for them, there was not a dry eye in his ear. The kindness had been wonderful, and snould teach them of the great brotherly feeling between the citizens of New Zealand. In past years he had been proud of New Zealand, but in the past two weeks that had turned to love. On behalf of the citizens of the town, his family and himself he wanted to thank them for the great kindness that had been extended to them. He also paid a generous tribute to the mediae. and nursing profession for their spontaneous help.
