Lindrum’s remarkaole recovery has continued to reduce his arrears to 2045 by brilliant play. He added only two and an unfinished 1794. He missed an awkward screw-cushion cannon, permitting Newman to register a beautiful break of 804. Lindrum, playing most carefully with faultless top table play, played out in the afternoon, with 1009. He continued in the evening session without a flaw, his control of top table play, adding 300 after which he resorted to close cannon play, with runs of 67, 82, and 94, passing the 2000 mark in splendid style He then reverted to the top table methods, reached 2583. He broke down over a thin cushion cannon, his last four innings realising 7665, compared with New- j man’s 1075. Newman miscued at 40, j heaving Lindrum 32 unfinished.
