CARE OF THE SKIN.
To keep your skin at its best you must understand its texture. If the surface appears oily or loose or the pores are enlarged, try cleansing it with ordinary milk or one of the milky toilet preparations than can be bought. Be certain that the cotton wool or cloth that you apply to your skin is absolutely spotless. Do not forget to give your face a light but firm massage with cold cream once or twice a week if you take to the milk method, as this will keep the tiny facial muscles flexible and strong. If your skin is oily or sallow, you will find that a honey mask will give it a clear look and develop a natural bloom. Take a jar of ordinary clear honey and smear over the face into a complete mask. Lie down for ten minutes with the head tilted back so that the honey keeps set. Afterwards wipe the honey away with a clean muslin cloth, and complete the cleansing with warm water and a creamy toilet coap. This treatment is definitely not for delicate or dry skins, but for skins that are inclined to be thick. MAKE YOUR BORONIA KEEP. Most flowers, when they are picked, last well in water if the stems are burnt. Boronia, however, has a fashion all its own. Immerse it completely in water, flowers and all, for about an hour, before arranging it in vases and boronia will last for a week or more. “Please tell me the secret of your charm, and teach me to fascinate people as you do,” pleased a very modern girl, as she knelt beside an old lady of 80, who still attracted everybody, in spite of her snowy hair. “My child,” w r as the gentle response, “remember just this: in the alphabet of charm there is no such letter as I; it is all U.”
