DAMAGE IN TASMANIA. United Prese Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright HOBART, December 24. A disastrous squall caused the destruction of the Westbury timber mills some weeks ago. and a fire occurred at Westbury this morning when 600 huge stacks of dressed timber valued at £33,000 were destroyed. The outbreak is believed to be the result of incendiarism. Fanned by a strong breeze the blaze at one period covered an area of several acres. Groups of men refused employment and money by refusing to assist those fighting the fire.
