CASUALTIES.
CARRIER KILLED. By Telegraph—Press Association PALMERSTON N., December 25. John Henry O’Neill, carrier, was struck by the relief New Plymouth express train on Wednesday afternoon at the Fitzroy crossing and killed outright. The lorry which he was driving was extensively damaged. MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, December 24. Knocked off a motor cycle by a motor car proceeding in the opposite direction, Alfred Baillie, Lower Hutt, was left lying on the Hutt Road at lO.'xj p.m., with a compound fracture of the right thigh. The motorist, after striking the cyclist, made no attempt to stop, but speeded off in the direction of the city.
