LADIES’ HOCKEY TOURNEY. NEW DRAW ANNOUNCED. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, August 25. Owing to the withdrawal of Poverty Bay, Auckland, and Ruahine from the Dominion Women’s hockey tourney, which opens at Invercargill on Saturday next, Miss H. A. Kitto (hon. secretary of the New Zealand Ladies’ Hockey Association), announced officially a redraw of section play for each playing day:Section A First day.—Wellington v Southland B; Rotorua v. Eastern B; West Coast v. North Otago. Second day.—Wellington v. Rotcrua, Southland B v. North Otago; West Coast v. Eastern B. Third day—Wellington v. North Otago; Rotorua v. West Coast; Southland B v. Eastern B. Fourth day.—Wellington v. West Coast; Rotorua v. Southland B; Eastern B v. North Otago. Fifth day.-Wellington v. Eastern B: Rotorua v. North Otago; West Coast v Southland B. Section B. First day.—Manawhenua v. South Canterbury; Wairarapa v. Eastern A; Southland A v. Otago. Second day.—Manawhenua v. Wairarapa; Southland A v. Eastern A; Otago v. South Canterbury. Third day.—Manawhenua v. Eastern A; Southland A v. South Canterbury; Wairarapa v. Otago. Fourth day.—Manawhenua v. Otago; South Canterbury v. Eastern A; Wairarapa v. Southland A. Fifth day.—Manawhenua v. Southland A: 'Wairarapa v. South Canterbury; Otago v. South Canterbury. The tournament opening date, originally August 29. has been altered to Saturday, August 30. SOUTH CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Management Committee of the S.C.H.A. was held last evening. Present—Messrs W. Gow (chairman), G. Hughes, L. Dockrill, L. Davies, R. Rennett, A. Stonyer, C. Henderson, Miss Rodgers and thfc secretary. Correspondence was received from the Otago, New Zealand and Ashburton Associations. The Otago Men’s Association notified that they were sending two men’s teams to Timaru on Saturday next, and final arrangements for the reception of the teams were left in the hands of a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs L. Davies, W. Gow and A. Stonyer. The Ashburton Association forwarded an invitation for South Canterbury to send a ladies’ representative team to play mid-Canterbury at Ashburton, but it was decided that, owing to the local team visiting Invercargill, it was impossible to send a team north. The committee decided to commence a men’s Knock-out competition on Saturday, September 6, Cambridge A to meet Trinity and South End to meet Cambridge B. Mr W. Gow was appointed maanger of the two South Canterbury teams j for Saturday. Representative Team.
