AVIATION.

ISLAND GROUND FOR WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 20. The possibility of the Wellington Aero Club securing Scabey Island as a flying ground arises as a result of a request made to the Hutt River Board. Scabey Island is situated at the Hutt River mouth, on the sea side of the new Seaview Road. Should the ground be leased to the Club, the Club will proceed with the extensive work in levelling and forming the ground, and building retaining walls, hangars, etc. The expenditure is estimated to run into a large sum. The River Board decided to inform the Club that the Board was in a position to lease, and requested further details of the proposals.
