LARGE UNIONS AMALGAMATE.
Workers and Miners. BIG COMBINED MEMBERSHIP. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received August 20, 10.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 20. Executives of the Australian Workers’ Union and the Miners’ Federation, two of the largest Unions in Australia, have agreed to amalgamate. The combined membership will be 200,000. There will be local autonomy in regard to the administration of domestic affairs. The scheme awaits ratification of members.
