BOROUGH FINANCE. The paysheet presented to last night’s meeting of the Temuka Borough Council amounted to £1052/11/2, chargeable to the several accounts as follows:—General £303/0/6; sanitation £lO9/10/1; drainage maintenance £44/9/11; drainage extension £3l/13/10; water works maintenance £l9/1/9; water works interest £315/8/2; street improvement loan £139/1/9; hospital £BS/5/2; fire loan £5; a total of £1052/11/2. Money received during the month included:—Rates £1299/15/4; rents £5/15/-; licenses £6/2/-; motor licenses £3; water works maintenance £2O/16/-; fire loan deposit £BO7/10/-; sundries £l/17/7; a total of £2144/15/11. The balances of the several accounts were as follows:—(Cr.), General £409/4/8; drainage maintenance £6/6/8; drainage extension £B/5/1; sanitation £l4/18/2; fire loan £795/0/2; fire brigade interest £3B/15/7; (Dr.), water interest £129/1/4; loan account £43/8/9; hospital £47/19/5; street lighting £42/18/3; water maintenance £ll/0/2. The credit balance was thus shown at £997/13/3. This statement was adopted. LADIES’ GOLF. At last night’s meeting of the Temuka Borough Council an invitation ! was received from the Fire Brigade to j attend a dinner on the evening of i August 28, in honour of the opening of the new brigade station. The attendance of the Council was also requested at the Brigade’s annual ball, to be held after the dinner. Both invitations were accepted. PERSONAL. Miss Sadie Scannell is spending a few days in the Mackenzie Country.
