At the New Port Casino tennis on Monday, in the first round, Harrison Coggleshall (Des Moines), defeated L. A. Godfree (England). 6-3, 6-3. Tilden passed the first round through default, and in the second, though suffering from hip injury from last week, he defeated Ellsworth Vines (California). 9-6, 6-2. In the second round E. R. Avery (England), defeated Harry Plymire (California), 6-3, 7-5. FOREST HILLS TOURNAMENT. United Press Association — By Sleotrle Telegraph—Copyright NEW YORK, August 18. At Forest Jlills in the women's national championship, Miss Betty Nuthall defeated Louise McFarlane (California), 6-0, 6-1. Catherine Wolf (Indianapolis), defeated Mrs K. J. Sherber (England), 7-5, 6-4.
