PLOT THAT FAILED.

ATTEMPT TO ROB BANK OFFICIALS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received August 19, 10.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 19. An attempt to rob bank officials of £SOO miscarried to-day. The head office of the New South Wales Government Saving Bank received a telephone message to despatch £SOO by a particular train to the Earlwood Branch. The money, however, was sent by motor car, and it was learned at Earlwood that no such telephone message had been sent, neither was money required.
