AUSTRALIAN BANK RETURNS
ANNUAL REVIEW ISSUED. United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright (Received August 14, 8.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 14. Official figures disclose that the total amount of money deposited in the trading banks in Australia, was £309,000.000, as at June 30. Deposits have contracted by £19,500,000 in the past twelve months, while advances have increased £16,750,000. After deducting total liabilities in Australia from the total assets in Australia, the surplus of the banks for the twelve months under review has almost doubled, and is now £66,231,000.
