He has been invited fo visit America by Lieutenant Williams, American Schneider trophv pilot, who has been in Europe during the last two weeks, conveying the invitation to representatives and pilots from Great Britain, France, Italy and Germany. Flight-Lieutenant Cherley. with the German Pilot, Captain Loshe, left Southampton to-day taking with him his own machine. He has been granted special leave by the Air Ministry, After the official reception in New York, the pilots will fly in international formation to Chicago, FlightLieutenant Cherley leading. THE KING’S YACH . HIS MAJESTY’S MOVEMENTS. British Ofllcial Wireless RUGBY, August 9. The King and Queen, who nave spent the last fortnight at Cowes for the regatta, where the King, despite the mixed weather, has greatly enjoyed the racing, in which his yacht Britannia has taken a prominent part, will return to London on Monday. After a few days at Buckingham Palace they will proceed to Sandringham, in Norfolk.
