August 3. The athletic authorities have suspended Dr. Peltzer because he has not presented his expenses account for the recent world tour, consequently he will not be participating in the German championships now being held. ANGLICAN HARRIERS. The Timaru Anglican Harrier Club held their weekly run from the residence of the Club's president, the Rev. W. Southward. Arthur Street. A full muster of harriers turned out, the weather being ideal for running. With the Canterbury championshins in view, it was thought best for the runners to go out in one pack. The trail led from the president’s home, up Arthur Street, to Hunt Street, Clifton Terrace to Avenue Road, along Avenue Road to Church Street West, along Church Street to the Harbour Board Quarry, and from the top of the Quarry to trail led down to the tramway bridge, circling to the left and crossing the creek many times; then following round to the outskirts of the High School football grounds, across the Landsborough Road and Fairview Road, then bearing to the left across Saltwater Creek, and up on to Market Street, around on to Woodlands Road, into Wilson Street, into Hunt Street, and via Arthur Street home. The results of the run home are as follows: — R. J. Taylor 1 G. Valentine 2 H. R. Preston 3 After the run, the harriers were entertained to afternoon tea by the Rev. Southward, and his mother, Mrs Southward. R. J. Taylor, Club secretary' thanked the Rev. Mr Southward and his ' mother, on behalf of the harriers. Mr Southward replied on behalf of his mother. Mrs Southward, stating that it was a very great pleasure for them to help the Club, and hoped that they would be able to do the same for the Club next year. Owing to the Club championship race, which was to have been held next Saturday being put back to August 23, the Club will hold its next weekly run from Mr G. Broadhead’s place, Campbell Street. The championship race will be run from the Parish Hall, Church Street, to Holme Station, via Beaconsfield road, the trophy for the race being the Ehvorthy Cup. The A. team to represent the Club in the Canterbury championship will be picked from the following:—R. J. Taylor (captain-, G. Valentine, H. R. Preston, D. Riddler, A. Creig, H. J. Stare, H. Valentine, I. Bennetts. G. Broadhead (Club captain) is being picked for the Combined team.
