SHORT OF COAL BEING TOWED TO PORT. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 1. The Kahika, wheih w’as en route from Gisborne to Dunedin, expei - ienced the full share of a stormy southerly that has just concluded. She cculd make no headway, but wai driven northward. As she was running short of bunker coal, the Wainui was despatched from Gisborne on Wednesday night to her assistance. She has the Kahika in tow, and is expected to reach Gisborne today. She picked up the Kahika on Thursday in the vicinity of East Cape.
