Surrey, first innings, 158 (Mitchell five for 40); second, 110 (Slater five for 46). Derby won by 199 runs. Somerset, first innings, 147 (Freeman six for 80). Kent, first innings, nine for 207 (Hardinge 76, White seven for 81). Kent won on the first innings. Sussex, first innings, 325 (Bowley 82, Cook 137); second, eight for 220. Nottingham, first innings, 383 (George Gunn 96, Payton not out 119). Nottingham won on the first innings. Lancashire, first innings, eight for 261 declared; second, one for 68 declared. Essex, first innings, 139 (Hopwood five for 18); second, none for 68. Lancashire won on the first innings. In the game, Yorkshire versus Northants, there was no play, the match being drawn.
