OBITUARY.
SENIOR-SERGEANT QUINN. By Telegraph—Press Association. „ . NELSON, July 3. Senior-Sergeant William John Qumn, whose death occurred to-day. J°J n ed the Police Force in July 1893 After serving two years in the Permanent Artillery at Wellington, in his early years in the Force he was stationed in Invercargill, Dunedin, Alexandra. Waimate, Gore and Palmerston North, before promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1911, when he was transferred to Christchurch. In 1916 he went to Wairoa, and on promotion to the rank of Senior-Sergiant was moved to Gisborne, and on to Rotorua in 1921. In 12928 Sergeant Quinn came to helson to replace the late Senior-Ser-geant Barrett. Deceased had only a very short period to go before completing 40 years in the service. He leaves a widow and a grown-up family of two.
