Miss Welsh, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs J. F. K. Jamieson, “Kinnoull.” Tycho.
Miss Agnes Hassell, “Carshalton,” North Street, left yesterday to stay with Miss Phyllis Pigott at the river. Mr and Mrs Whitcombe, Bank of New South Wales, have arrived from Oamaru.
Mrs F. G. M. Raymond, Wai-iti Avenue, will leave to-morrow to spend a week in Christchurch.
Mr and Mrs Hamilton SinclairThomson, Park Lane, and Mr A. S. Elworthy, Holme Station, will leave tomorrow for Christchurch.
Mrs Allan, Edinborough. who has been staying with Mrs W. Priest, Bank Street, left yesterday for Christchurch on her return home. Mrs P. B. Benham, Pleasant Point, who has been staying with Mrs J. Goldie, “Ardgour,” Sealy Street, returned home yesterday. Mr and Mrs A. M. Nicholson, Commercial Bank, will leave this month for their new home in Richmond, Melbourne.
Mr and Mrs G. Whitehouse, and Master George Whitehouse, who are staying at Cadogan, Sefton House, will leave to-morrow for their new home in Sydney. Miss Dobeen Kiver (Christchurch), is Heaving on July 17th for Wellington to join the Rangitane for England, where,, on her arrival, her marriage to Colonel Turtoh will take place in London from the home of the bridegroom’s sister. Miss Ida M. Newson (Geraldine) has, since her arrival in England by the Orford, in April, been staying with her aunt, Mrs G. Holmes, at Deal. She has booked her return passage by the Orford, leaving for Sydney on October 25th. In the meantime tours will be made to South-Western counties, to Scotland and the Continent. On June 20, at Chalmers Church, Dunedin, by the Rev. J. Pringle, there were joined in holy wedlock, Agnes Dorathea Sonley, eldest daughter of Mrs Johnstone, of Nile Street, Timaru, and the late Captain Johnstone, and William John, son of Mr A. Frame, Leith Street, Dunedin, and the late Mrs Frame. .
Last night, at • her home in Sefton Street, Mrs W. J. Cotterill gave a delightful bridge party in honour of Mrs G. Whitehouse. Sprays of autumn leaves and pink and white Christmas roses decorated the drawing room and scarlet leaves were used ta decorate the supper table. Mrs Cotterill received her guests in a frock of black georgette relieved with gold lace, and Miss Helen Cotterill was in flame-coloured georgette, the full skirt falling into points. Mrs Whitehouse wore a graceful frock of rose-coloured ring velvet.
