THE CHURCHES.

The services at Trinity Presbyterian Chuich to-morrow will be conducted by Rev. A. J. 11. Dow. In the morning the choir will sing “Praise the Lord.” and in the evening, “Come Unto Me." Anniversary services are to be held to-morrow at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Highfield, and at Washdyke, when Rev. W. F. Nichol, of Waimate, will preach. The morning anthem will be “God is a Spirit.” In the evening there will be a quartette, and the anthems “I will declare Thy Greatness” and “Nearer My God, To Thee." At the anniversary social on Monday at 7.30, Revs. W. F. Nichol and F. J. Shaw will speak. To-morrow (Sunday), at the Salvation Army: Ensign Friberg will speak in the morning meeting on “The Lost Axe Head," and at night “The Ten Bridesmaids.” A recent convert will also speak. The services at St. Mary’s Church to-morrow' will be Holy Communion at 8 a.m., Matins at 11 a.m. and evensong at 6.30. The usual meeting for men will be held in the Men’s Club room after evening service. St. John's, Highfield, are observing their patronal festival. There will be a celebration of Holy Communion at 11 a.m. at which the preacher wdll be the Vicar of the Parish (the Rev. H. W. Monaghan). There will be Holy Communion at St. Michael's and All Saints at 9.30 a.m. and at St. Saviours at 7.30 a.m. The Rev. C. W. Duncumb will continue his address on the “Holy’ Spirit in Action” tomorrow morning, and at night on the sure word of prophecy setting forth the Scriotures relative to the coming Armageddon and that which follows in its relationship to i present day everts. The Rev. T. W. Armour, of Knox Church. Christchurch, is visiting the St. Andrews district, and will preach to-morrow at Hunter, Otaio, and St. Andrews Presbyterian Churches. The Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes will conduct the services in Chalmers Church. At the morning service, his subject will be: “At Ease in Zion.” The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at the afternoon service in Claremont. The subject of the evening address will be: “On Making a Fool of Oneself.” The evening anthem will be: “Lord of All Pow'er and Might.” The Rev. F. J. Shaw will preach at both services in the Congregational Church to-morrow. The morning subject will be “Christ the Door"; evening subject, “The Only Way.” The choir wdll sing the anthem, “Lead Me Lord.” Visitors, are welcome.

The Rev. Harold T. Peat will be the preacher at both services in Bank Street Methodist Church to-morrow. The theme in the morning will be: ■ “The Church’s Greatest Need.” and in the evening. “The Unpardonable Sin." The choir will render an anthem. The services in Woodlands Street Church will be conducted by the Rev. P .1. Cooke, and the Rev. C. O. Hailwood, j Visitors are cordially invited to all services.
