This is one of a series of HIQHLANDER Recipes appearing each fortnight —cut them out and keep them by you. METHOD.— Sift flour, powder and salt. Rub in the butter and mix to a flexible dough with the milk. Turn on a floured board, and roll till smooth, and about *4 inch thick. Brush all over with a little milk. Place the sheet of dates on one half, and fold over the other half of the dough. Brush over with milk, cut into two-inch squares and bake in a quick oven.
