After an inspection of the apples at Covent Garden, several brokers complained of the unsatisfactory nature of the Victorians, which they said were the worst of all from the Dominions. The grading ivas wrong, the packing slack, and insufficiently filled, whereas the New Zealand and West Australian apples were in excellent condition. GERALDINE STOCK SALE. A poor sale was experienced at Geraldine yesterday, and bidding was dragging practically throughout the day. The Otago Farmers’ Co-operative Association of New Zealand, hold their fortnightly sale before a full bench of buyers. There was also a keen demand for other lines.
