Big Building Programme

REPLY TO RIVAL POWERS. (United Press Association—By Electrlo Tel egraph—Copy -lght.) ROME. April 27. Five warships were launched, and the keel of a giant liner of 45,000 tons was laid down on a single day, which was observed as a public holiday at all the ports concerned. The warships consist of two 10,000 ton cruisers, each carrying three seaplanes; two scoutships, capable of doing 37 knots; and an 800 tons submarine.

The new liner will be the largest and most luxurious Italian ship afloat and will carry 2250 passengers.
