MESSAGE TO BYRD

The following message to Rear-Ad-miral Byrd was despatched by the Governor-General this morning (the Rangitiki sailed at six a.m.) “ On behalf of the Government and people of -New Zealand, I desire to wish you and your comrades a pleasant voyage and to assure you of the great satisfaction your stay in New Zealand has given us, and the welcome which awaits you when you come amongst us again.”
