BEAUTY’S TEN COMMANDMENTS.
1. To cure dry dandruff massage the scalp with pure olive oil. 2. Rub the lips with cold cream nightly in winter and the coldest winds will not crack them.
3. To whiten the skin apply a lotion made of equal parts of lemon juice, glycerine and rose water. 4. Cleanliness is the biggest aid to beauty, so take plenty of hot baths and remember to change your clothes frequently. 5. When you manicure attend to the cuticle in particular. 6. Before going to bed brush your hair vigorously. You’ll find the lovely gloss produced, well worth the trouble. 7. The juice of a lemon, drunk with water and without sugar every morning on rising, niakes the skin beautifully clear.
8. Indulge in a pedicure each week, keeping a sharp look-out for corns. 9. To clean your face thoroughly apply a paste of toilet oatmeal and water; let it stay on for a few minutes, then remove and rinse your face well. 10. Do this exercise five times a day if you want a slim waist. Standing with your feet together, slowly raise the right arm curving it till the hand reaches the head, and let the left hand slowly drop down till it reaches your knee. Then reverse the movement.
Lazy Laurie: “There’s one think I like about snowy weather.” Idle Iris: “What’s that?” Lazy Laurie: “Father can’t see if I’ve cleaned my boots.”
