BRITAIN’S POLICY IN EGYPT.
Hold-up Of Negotiations.
BRITAIN’S FIRM STAND. (United Press Association—By Electrl# Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON. April 22. The Anglo-Egyptian situation is critical. It is for the Egyptians to request the resumption of the parleys, but thus far they have made absolutely no approach and the British will not wait indefinitely. Nahas Pasha might return to Egypt hoping to force Mr Henderson’s hand on the Sudan question, which alone is outstanding, but it is stated that the British are quite prepared to allow a breakdown, in the event of which the existing control will remain until the Egyptians further take the initiative.
