CYCLING IN CRAIGIE AVENUE.
To the Editor of the " Timaru Herald.” Sir,—Would you kr j allow me space to express my oval of a practice which is goii ' 'yn Craigie Avenue for some time r \ iiy getting worse, namely the ma’. ise of the avenue between the trc as a cycle track. Now, sir, this is going on to the danger of pedestrians, who desire to make use of the generous, gift made by the Hon. James Craigie. I could not imagine that that honourable gentleman meant this gift to be used as a cycle track. This practice is not carried on only during the daytime, but at night as well. One is in dread to travel along there at night especially as not a sound or note of warning is given until one hears the swish of a “bike” passing. We hope that those who have the right to enforce public protection will take action in this matter. —I am, etc., PEDESTRIAN.
