THE WEATHER.
F. L. Wooles. Wind strong to moderate southerly; weather somewhat unsettled, but maily fair and cold. Dominion Meteorologist. A depression crossed the Domnion during Thursday night, and a shallow cyclone has since developed in the northern Tasman Sea. Pressure is high over the whole of Australia. Expect winds strong to northely to easterly north of Kawhia and East Cape; elsewhere freshening southerly to south easterly, squally at times from Cook Strait northward. Seas rough on the East Coast, and rising off the West Coast of the North Island; moderate elsewhere. Weather cloudy and unsettled, with rain in most districts; some heavy falls in the Auckland District with thunder at places. Cold temperatures, more especially in the South Island; improving soon in Westland.
