THE WEATHER.

Mr F. L. Wooles. Wind moderate to fresh northerly ruling; weather fair to cloudy and warm. Outlook for week ending March 24: Wind mainly northerly to westerly; weather fair conditions ruling, with an odd scattered shower likely. Dominion Meteorologist. Slight low pressure waves continue to move south of New Zealand, but a rise of pressure is likely to take place there shortly. Barometers have remained high in the north, and they are also high over the greater part of Australia. Expect winds northerly north of Westport and Kaikoura, mainly light to moderate, but fresh at first in Cook Strait; elsewhere variable, and later winds generally becoming variable. Seas generally smooth to moderate, but rough at first about Cook Strait. Weather mainly fair, but cloudy and misty in places in and south of Cook Strait, with some scattered showers. Temperatures becoming somewhat cooler.
