DRUNK AND RESISTING POLICE. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 17. Walter Hugh Anderson (28), motor salesman, pleaded guilty before the Magistrate, Mr W. Maunsell, to beingintoxicated in charge of a car, and to violently resisting a constable who attempted to arrest him early on Sunday morning. Anderson was fined £2O on the first charge, and £lO on the second. CART AND CAR COLLIDE.

As a result of a collision of a motor car with a horse and cart near Manurewa, Mrs Wynne Murray (33), was removed to hospital with concussion of the brain. A. Adams, employed as a barman, and A. G. Frost, sustained minor injuries. VALUELESS CHEQUES. By Telegraph—Press Association. GREYMOUTH. March 17. John Petley (43), pleaded guilty to obtaining £lO and £5 by valueless cheques at Westport, and was sentenced to three months on each charge, concurrent. Accused had fourteen previous convictions for theft, forgery and false pretences.
CONVICTED OF THEFT. By Telegraph—Frew* Association. GREYMOUTH, March 17. Cyril Kenneth Brown (20), was ordered to come up for sentence within 12 months if called, for the theft of goods valued at £3 5s at Ahaura. DRUNKEN MOTORIST. By Telegraph—Press Association INVERCARGILL, March 17. On Sunday afternoon Arthur Rolan a, carter, collided with a stationary car parked on the roadside. At the Police Court he was fined £ls for being intoxicated while in charge of a motor car, and ordered to take out a prohibition order.
