ACCIDENT AT DIRT TRACK. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 9. While competing in a dirt-track motor-cycle race at Kilbirnie Stadium on Saturday night, J. Hollis (Australia) fell, and a cycle ridden by R. Blake, also of Australia, appeared to strike him. He was taken tc the hospital with a very severe lacerated wound on the left arm and suffering also from concussion and shock.

MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 6. Arnold Wilfred Parkinson, surveyor, of Moxham Avenue, Haitaitai, while riding a motor cycle down a Wellington road at about 1.25 this afternoon, was thrown under the wheels of a passing motor-lorry through the motor-cycle skidding, and was killed instantly. CAR STRUCK BY TRAM. By Telegraph— Pres* Association. WELLINGTON, March 8. * At a quarter to two this atfernoon, a serious car smash occurred in Glenmore Street, a little above the Botanical Gardens. A light car which was running to town was crossing in front of a tram. It is stated that the car was struck and thrown into the bank with great force. All three occupants were injured about the head. The driver, who gave his name as A. J. Lynch, Pirie Street, escaped lightest, but all three men were taken to hospital. The other names as given are Thomson and Giles. The car was completely wrecked. The victims in the smash in Glenmore Street on Saturday were;— Brian Wilson, Tinakori Road. Cyril Thompson, Abel Smith Street, who is suffering from severe head injuries. He was operated on last night and is now conscious. A. J. Lynch, Pirie Street, who has returned home from the Hospital. Lynch was the driver of the car, which dashed into a bank. DEATH ON BOWLING GREEN. By Telegraph—Press -Association. CHRISTCHURCH, March 8. An elderly man, Robert Lamplugh died suddenly on the Kaiapoi Workingmen’s Club bowling green this afternoon. He had been playing all the afternoon, and had just finished a game when he fell down and expired on the green.
