THE MODERN WOMEN
CLOSE HARMONY. The modern woman is a colour fiend, and she is aided and abetted in her fancy by everybody. Her house, her car, her shoes, and her bed linen all fellow a given scheme directed by her taste. She likes coloured sheets, and she can have them —in pale pink, azure blue, lemon yellow, lily leaf green, palest heliotrope, and apricot tint. Not only that. She can have blankets to tone, to use with her sheets—bound with broad satin ribbon, or just “whipped over.” Even the sachets she uses in her own room accord with the bedclothes and coverings. A violet or lilac perfume is the one she will chose if she has a heliotrope room, or red rose or geranium pink for a pastel pink one. The yellow bedroom can have verbena. the green lily of the valley or jasmine, and so on.
