ST. MARY’S HARRIER CLUB. A meeting of members of St. Mary’s Young Men's Club was held last night at which it was decided to form a Harriers Club. The following were elected to form a temporary committee:—Messrs R. J. Taylor (secretary), H. J. Stare, H. J. Valentine, C. F. Berry, and G. R. Valentine. Red and white were selected as club colours, and it was decided to have an opening run from St. Mary's Hall on- the first Saturday in April.
METHODIST HARRIERS. The committee of the Methodist Harrier Club held a meeting last evening, when final arrangements were made for Saturday's run from Woodlands Street Hall. It was decided to have a trail laid over a five-mile course. Four new members were elected, making a total of 26. The chairman complimented members on the rapid growth of the club, and urged them to keep the club going at its present rate and bring about a large membership for the season. Runs were promised by the following:—Waimataitai Girls’ Club, Messrs Metson, Darling and Hujrdley. The run for 15th March was fixed from the residence of Mr F. Metson. An offer of a miniature cup from Mr E. Firkin was gratefully accepted, and it was decided to write a letter of thanks to the donor. It was decided to ask the president Rev. H. T. Peat to speak at the conclusion of the opening run.
