BOLD BID FOR BULLION.

THIEVES FAIL ON BIG LINER. (lmlt«d Pr«M Association—By Kactrl* TtiSgraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY. March 5. Thieves are believed to have made a bold bid for part of the £1,000,000 shipment of gold stowed on the Naldera for London. An official of the P. and O. Company, who was supervising the loading, noticed that the seals of tw r o boxes, each containing £5.000. were broken. Subsequent investigation revealed that the contents of the boxes w f ere intact, but the seals suggested that an attempted coup was frustrated through lack of time.
