DISCOVERY’S VOYAGE

EXPEDITION SAILS FOR AUSTRALIA. (United Press Association—By Eleccno Telegraph—Copyright.) CANBERRA, March 5. A copyright wireless message from Sir Douglas Mawson states: “Our plans have been curtailed by the sudden descent of wintry conditions while we have been safely anchored at Kerguelen. Gales have raged for more than a week past and the only prudent course is to return to lower latitudes, as the weather seems to have relapsed into a succession of winter storms. We have accordingly quitted Kerguelen and shaped our course direct to Australia.”
