FISHING KETCH WRECKED.
CREW OF TWO MISSING. By Telegraph—Press Association. INVERCARGILL, March 5. Advice was received by the Sergeant of police at Bluff to-day of the loss of the fishing boat Mararoa, owned by the Bluff Fish and Oyster Coy., while engaged in fishing off Sooky Point at 8 o'clock this morning. It is feared that two men on board —Thomas Clark and John West—have been drowned, as it is too rough in the straits for any small vessel to make search. The Mararoa was considered to be a very seaworthy craft. She was ketchrigged, and had an auxiliary engine. It is reported from Stewart Island that three fishing boats were running for shelter at the time, and one oi them noticed that the Mararoa had disappeared. The boat immediately turned and cruised round the spot for some time, fruitlessly, and finally had to leave the dangerous spot. The boats w T ill return to search as soon as the gale moderates.
