SALE OF FIREWORKS,

RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED. By Telegraph—Press Aseoclatlon. WELLINGTON. March 5. Sir Thomas Sidey stated to-day that the Government had now decided to confirm the restrictions imposed by the Arms Act, with respect to all fireworks. In future fireworks may only be sold subject to permits issued by the police. The practical effect of this decision is that fireworks may not be purchased by children, and even adults will be required to satisfy the police that displays will be given only in suitable places, with adequate precautions to prevent accident.
