PIPE BANDS.

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, February 24. Over the week-end the annual conference of the Highland Pipe Bands Association was held. Mr Archibald McLachlan (Wanganui) was elected president and Mr McKenzie Forbes (Wanganui) vicepresident. It was resolved that in future piping judges should not be enclosed in a tent; and that the points in the quickstep should be 100 for drill and 100 for music. A motion that the Pipe Bands Association should secede from the Piping and Rancing Association was negatived by 30 to 1.
