A protest was lodged against Arikinui on the ground that his rider had struck Fernden on the head with his whip. The protest was dismissed, the stewards holding that the striking was accidental. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 19. In connection with the fourth test, it is possible that there will be an alteration in the dates of the Otahuhu Trotting Club’s meeting. It is not in the interests cf either the Trotting Club or the cricket authorities that there should be a clash, tut while the Otahuhu Club would have to adhere to its original intention to held the first of the two day’s summer meeting on Saturday, it would be agreeuole to postpone the second day from Monday to Wednesday. A request for permission to make the alteration in the date of the second day has been sent to the Minister of Internal Affairs.
